Long time no see bro. Don't listen to that dude on the message. We all get better with more opportunities. We can agree it needs some work but good attempt. But being a jerk about it isn't cool. We all have things that never turned out the best and exactly as planned. I Just checked out some of his tattoos and well none of the lines are crisp or straight. At least you can pull some straight lines. hes got lots of blow outs. I'm done talking crap now because I'm no better and still learning.  But hey as artists we are always learning all the time and every time. All skin is different. Like I said I"m not some amazing artist myself just trying to learn as much as i can when i can. Make sure you don't let some crappy comment take the wind out of your sails. Also you got some brass balls man id never attempt a portrait. Those seem way too hard and I could never draw like that. I wouldn't even have the guts to try haha.

Pull the hair out where it starts to hour glass shape and try to get a better reference picture. The one you had there if your worked off that it would be hard to find where her hair starts and stops on the edges. I've seen worse portraits from way more amazing artists than us on ink master lol.

your words do my heart good bro, its ok i can take a critique he does have a point though it was a little hurtful the way he said it.
i had some good pointers sent by great tattoo artists through DA note  (i kept pestering them for advice bless them) i know better now. wish i have more free time to practice but our 3 helpers got deported and we are very short handed the work load was difficult enough to start with now its brutal lol. im living the kingdom on the last week of november taking my tattoo kit with me, i bet i will get a lot of practice during my vacation and i was running out of needles also need a new power supply.

thanks  for the advice should have thought of that, i did have plenty of prep time im ah fool!!!!  XDDD
i was scared to do it too! did some pencil sketches hoping it will give me a hint how to proceed, i even asked my friend if he can settle for the girls name XD but he wont budge
and he came from outside riyadh i couldnt say no. bless his stubborn heart because of him i learned a lot
from the experience.

hope to see more from you brother.

Oh god, I feel so bad for your friend. Her head looks like an hour glass. I don't usually make judgements, but please do some more studying before doing any more portraits on skin. I'm really up there with doing good portraits on paper and in digital, but I would still feel uncomfortable to even think about tattooing portraits on people, for fear they'd end up like this. Seriously, that guys going to need a cover up or laser removal. Just that tattoos are very serious, because they last forever and this is just a caring critique, from one tattoo artist to another.

ouch man that really hurt, easy on the critique its my first time dont worry after it heals im going to do some retouches, i got the head shape at least right he was twisting his arm when i took the photo but yes i do need more practice and no it doesnt need a cover up nor a laser just retouch and its free. in my defense its not as bad as the ones me and my friend saw online sample of tattoo portraits gone wrong, but that is no excuse of course.

im no pro nor do i claim to be one, before we did this on his skin i already told him that i will do the best i can and im not confident i can do a good job. i awe the guy for giving me the opportunity to do a portrait, he likes it his girlfriend loves it well the gesture of what he did and i promised to fix it when it fully heals. thank you for the critique. hugs hugs

At least they love it. Now that I've heard your side, I can understand that. At least you knew before hand. I thought maybe you were one of those people that think they're awesome and we're going to keep pumping that out. But yeah, man, have a good day. Didn't want to mess up your flow and bring you down. Keep drawing man! I'm sure you'll get better. Practice on some pigskin or some of those fake skins, and next time you'll know it won't be bad before the real thing. Peace

thank you very much, it was the big eid holiday here in saudi arabia only chance me and my friends could meet they work outside riyadh, and tattoo is taboo over here, i only mess around mostly with coverups done by other scratchers like me  if i think i can improve upon it so this portrait was really a big challenge i appreciate your critique and i know where your coming from. jun came all the way from outside the city to get this portrait done, spent some time the night before making the stencil in coreldraw and 5 and a half hours doing it, if you can see there is some sort of lettering up there above the portrait, thats juns ex so he wants his fiance' to feel shes more important and shes the one so he really wanted this piece i cant say no its a big opportunity for me too XDDD

p.s. pork is illegal in saudi arabia they consider it haram or unclean, i try practicing on some fruits like big lemons, grape fruit etc. its good for lining practice but sad to say i cant practice shading on them i tried to but doesnt work.
